The ALTOUR-MED project recently achieved a significant milestone with the successful completion of national seminars in Malta, Greece, and Italy. These events were crucial in advancing our mission to enhance the skills of tourism professionals and students while promoting sustainable and alternative tourism practices across the Mediterranean region.
On June 6, 2024, the ALTOUR-MED project partners met in Athens, Greece, to outline the next steps for the project. The focus was on organizing national seminars in Italy and Greece, which will likely be conducted in Italian and Greek respectively. Key actions were assigned, including the translation of the GUIDE and webinar presentations into these languages. These materials will be uploaded to the shared drive and the project website.
The Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS), leading the Altour-MED project, recently completed an international webinar focused on advancing alternative tourism education. This event successfully gathered professionals and educators from the tourism and Vocational Education and Training (VET) sectors across Europe. Hosted online, the webinar served as an effective platform for sharing knowledge and fostering collaboration among experts from Malta, Greece, Italy, and other countries.
