The ALTOUR-MED Guide is designed to enhance alternative tourism offers in the target regions.

This support tool will be useful for businesses, VET providers, and tourism organizations that wish to contribute to sustainable and resilient tourism ecosystems. It will also serve as a basis for organizing webinars and in-person seminars in Malta, Greece, and Italy. It will be available for download here in three languages: English (EN), Greek (EL), and Italian (IT).

Various topics will be covered, including definitions of alternative tourism, the state of alternative and sustainable tourism in Malta, Italy, and Greece, regional opportunities and needs, best practices, building and engaging a multi-stakeholder network, and efficient destination management and promotion.

The guide is designed for a wide audience that includes professionals in the tourism sector, students enrolled in tourism and hospitality programs, VET providers and educators in the field of tourism, destination management professionals, local, regional, and national authorities, as well as the general public and potential guests.

The goal is to empower these target groups by providing valuable tools and materials, increasing knowledge about various forms of alternative tourism, and supporting the integration of current and future trends in alternative tourism into their educational offers. In this way, it aims to develop and promote tailored alternative tourism offers, based on market skills and intelligence.
